Key Responsibilities of the Specialist II, Sponsorship
Technical Support: Provide guidance on technical aspects of sponsorship such as enrollment management, awareness-raising methodologies, and managing communication processes. Disseminate best practices across partners. |
Capacity Building: Enhance staff awareness and knowledge in sponsorship matters. Identify training needs and develop implementation plans. Conduct onboarding for new partners and continuous training for active partners. |
Sponsorship Quality and Data Management: Monitor sponsorship operations and data quality to ensure compliance with standards and policies. Collaborate with Sponsorship Officers and local partners for regular sponsorship and data reviews. |
Coordination and Integration: Work with other Country Office function areas to maximize sponsorship collaboration efforts. Manage and coordinate sponsor visits, including itinerary preparation, logistics, supervision, and reporting. |
Child Monitoring and Benefit Tracking: Ensure periodic monitoring of enrolled children in all communities, identifying and addressing issues. Use child visitation data to improve programming for child well-being. |
Quota Management: Oversee the management of the Country Office’s enrollment quota by supporting local partners to maintain child enrollment within approved limits. Manage large enrollment requests per sponsorship SOP. |
Performance Management (M&E): Provide analysis on sponsorship performance for program and management action. Participate in key activities/events and ensure coordination for implementing M&E exercises. |
Knowledge Management and Learning: Develop and document knowledge products, approaches, and lessons learned related to sponsorship. Promote organization-wide learning and sharing. |
Child Safeguarding: Promote strong safeguarding practices, understand ChildFund’s child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with these guidelines. |
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in international development, child development, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience. |
Experience: 5 years of progressive work experience in child development administration within an international non-profit environment. Experience with child sponsorship organizations and understanding of sponsorship operations. |
Skills
Experience in handling information and database systems. |
Excellent organization and prioritization skills. |
Problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously. |
Fluency in English; fluency in a local language is an advantage. |
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in matrix organizational settings. |
Above-average computer proficiency in database systems and general office software (Word, Excel, Outlook). |
