Role & Responsibilities
| Key Responsibilities | Description |
| Technical Design & Development | Collaborate with senior engineers in the technical design process, contributing to the analysis of application requirements. |
| Code Development | Convert technical solutions into low-level design and working code for small to medium-sized initiatives. |
| Coding Standards & Optimization | Independently write secure and optimized code, adhering to Emirates Group-approved coding standards. |
| On-Call Support & Issue Resolution | Participate in rotational on-call support, actively resolving production issues within SLAs with minimal supervision. |
| Quality Assurance & Testing | Ensure 100% unit testing as part of the CI/CD pipeline, analyze and fix defects with minimal rework, and ensure logging and monitoring hooks are implemented. |
| Continuous Learning & Code Enhancement | Stay updated on relevant technologies and implement learnings to enhance code quality. Adhere to coding standards and contribute to Software Engineering Playbooks. |
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT, particularly in Software Engineering.
- Experience in Agile Software Development and a solid understanding of testing concepts (unit testing, functional testing, and test automation).
- Proficient in system design tools and technologies such as Spring Boot, Mockito, Junit, NoSQL, Microservices, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Design Patterns.
- Strong systems analytical and technical design skills.
Desirable Skills
- Strong understanding of testing concepts, including unit testing, functional testing, and test automation.
- Experience in designing and maintaining medium to large applications or modules.
- Expertise in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and functional programming.
